Places to visit in winter in India– Alright! The month of December & winter in India has been started; it means now the Sun is on vacation. Therefore, winter marks the best of the holiday destination in India to visit awesome places.
Winter is always the best when it comes to tropical regions. The place would be cold, pleasing, lush and enjoyable. There are a few places that would make you winter vacation ever-green in your memories in India.

1.Auli, Uttrakhand

Auli is a famous hill station in Uttarakhand where nature meets adventure and is top places to visit in winter. It is one famous destination in Uttarakhand that is widely known for its immense beauty and the abundant fun activities like Skiing. In December, snow starts to accumulate and form great slope for skiing.  Auli is a beautiful hill station with wonderful views of the snow-capped peaks of Garhwal and Kumaon. It’s around 6 km uphill from Joshimath. However to go to Auli Top to get the best view. the only option is cable car or ropeway from Joshimath. Of course it is winter ski destination but we went in October primarily to enjoy the views and stayed in GMVN Auli Ski Resort. There is a chair lift from GMVN but that does not go to Auli Top Tower 10 but only to Tower 8 and then one has to do a 1 km trek.

2. Manali, Himachal Pradesh

How one could miss the best destination in Himachal Pradesh to visit with friends. For those keen on experiencing snow, December is the best time to travel to Manali. Many people have been to Manali. But, Manali in December has a whole new look.Manali is the real starting point of an ancient trade route which crosses the Rohtang and Baralacha passes, and runs via Lahul and Ladakh to Kashmir while divergent road connects it with Spiti. Now the motor link have been provided up to Leh in Jammu & Kashmir, Pangi valley in Chamba and Kaza of Lahul & Spiti. There are regular bus services to these places from Manali during summer season. It is situated at a distance of 45 kms from Kullu.

3. Patnitop, Jammu and Kashmir

Patnitop is a hilltop tourist destination offering a paragliding joyride perched at an altitude of 2024 m above the sea level. The ride is conducted at a 2 km landmark, Dawariyai, situated on Patnitop-Sanasar Road, also known as Billoo Di Powri point.
One can reach the point by ascending through 400 plus steps carved out of rock. The organizers, apart from providing safe and thrilling ride, also offer a good quality video. After a flight of about 7-15 minutes, depending upon the wind conditions, you will land at Kud, all excited and enchanted.

4. Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

The former summer capital of the British in India, and the present capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla has been blessed with all the natural bounties which one can think of. It has got a scenic location, it is surrounded by green hills with snow capped peaks. The spectacular cool hills accompanied by the structures made during the colonial era creates an aura which is very different from other hill.Bulging at its seams with unprecedented expansion, Shimla retains its colonial heritage, with grand old uildings, charming iron lamp posts and Anglo-Saxon names. The Mall,packed with shops and eateries, is the main attraction of the town, and Scandal Point, associated with the former Maharaja of Patiala’s escapades, offers a view of distant snow clad peaks.Shimla is ideally located, and though there is an air service to the town, it is best reached by road that takes in the charms of the HIMALAYAN countryside at its best.
