COVID-19 or otherwise known as the Coronavirus is a dreaded and contagious disease caused by a deadly virus that can instantly infect anyone regardless of social class, gender, religion or ethnicity. People who got infected with this curable malady are commonly experiencing mild, moderate to severe symptoms depending on one’s immune system. Likewise, people who are within the age brackets of 50 and above are more susceptible to other serious illnesses and those who have underlying medical concerns such as heart problems, diabetes, and chronic respiratory sickness among others.

Coronaviruses are huge families of viruses that can cause illnesses even on animals. COVID-19 is NOT an AIRBORNE DISEASE. Any one of us can be infected if you had inhaled the virus, through a carrier who is one meter from your location. Moreover, if a COVID-19 carrier has touched a given surface then, it can be transmitted without a warning.

Coronavirus

COVID-19 virus spreads quickly without our knowledge through human saliva droplets or nasal discharge, through coughing or sneezing.  Therefore, social distancing or wearing face masks is advisable most especially in crowded places. Thus, a flexed elbow must be observed as a primary respiratory etiquette when one tends to cough. People are being infected by different means. Some of its major signs and symptoms are:

Signs and Symptoms

  • Fever
  • Dry Cough
  • Lethargic or tiredness
  • Breathing difficulty
  • Diarrhea
  • Body pains
  • Nausea
  • Runny Nose

Medical experts have found out that COVID-19 patients must undergo a self-isolation process once they were tested positive through swabbing and other related medical tests. As they say, prevention is better than an ounce of cure. So, here are the easiest ways to deter the spread of Coronavirus.

Prevention

  1.  Wash your hands with soap and water frequently or alcohol-based sanitizers.
  2. Observe at least a one-meter distance from a person when sneezing or coughing.
  3.  Do not touch your face, particularly the eyes and your mouth.
  4. Stay at the comforts of your home if you are not feeling well.
  5. If symptoms persist, do not self-medicate. Consult a doctor as soon as possible.
  6. Avoid smoking to get rid of deteriorating your lungs.

On its spiritual aspect, COVID-19 might be God’s most effective way of telling us that we must change our ways and self-centered attitudes and perspectives to become better creations of His image and likeness, before the ultimate wrath come before us unexpectedly. Feed our mind and soul with both physical and spiritual nourishment through prayer and sincere repentance of all our iniquities.

Do not lose hope. God’s merciful heart will finally put an end to this invisible armor of sudden death.
