A dreamy tour was experienced by me last year in Sikkim. Like other spots of Sikkim, Pelling also turns as a “Heavenly Beautiful” by it all means of mighty mountains with the lofty pine trees and their shadows in the roads like alleys. Like Lachan and Lachung, all the ridgeway of Pelling the hilly area is also full of lots of crevice rocky mountains. Its picturesque village is surrounded by undulating hills and snow-capped mountain range gives a heavenly flavor at last. Pelling, a beautiful town in the West district of Sikkim, has become the second biggest tourist destination in Sikkim after Gangtok. Located 10 km from getting and 130 km from Gangtok, the main attraction of the place is the breathtaking sight of the Khangchendzonga and the neighboring peaks. The Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Rabong (Ravangla) in South Sikkim district, Sikkim, India. It was constructed between 2006 and 2013 and features a 130-foot (40 m) high statue of the Buddha as its centerpiece. The site was chosen within the larger religious complex of the Rabong Gompa (Monastery), itself a centuries-old place of pilgrimage. The statue of the Buddha marks the occasion of the 2550th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha. This statue was built and installed in the place through the joint efforts of the Sikkim government and its people. The surrounding view of Ravenglass buddha park is also splendid fascinating. The cloud-capped rolling hills of Pelling also give a different vibe of amusement. Pelling also has sites for mountain biking, rock climbing, village tours, meditations, apart from serving as a base for a number of treks in the region. Therefore, Pelling is the heart where all the breathtaking tourist spots of West Sikkim can be visited. Rich in heritage and culture, with ancient monasteries, pristine environment, numerous treks and hikes, Pelling is a must-visit place in Sikkim. The hills with a patchwork of green made even more varied by the shadows of passing clouds. They are every hue from the new winter season snow-crapped with lofty steep. Some are more shallow than others, but most have steep paths that take you to one side of their summit and then down to the next valley below. The hills that lie friendly in the day – like the pillows of the land – are darkly ominous by night. The paths that were illuminated just hours before become lost in a blackness that even moonlight cannot help. But the unsaid and unspoken words of silence make lots of unusual feelings one don’t ever meet. From the highest steep mountains, one can easily touch the silver clouds and walk on that. The mountains were covered with a rug of trees, green, yellow, scarlet and orange, but their bare tops were scarfed and beribboned with snow. From carved rocky outcrops, waterfalls drifted like skeins of white lawn, and in the fields, we could see the amber glint of rivers and the occasional mirror-like flash of a mountain lake. The rustless cascades and their buddle demoiselles make me fell unaware of all the earthy worries and destructions. The trees that are magnificent in the sunshine tower over James as he steps across the borderline between the seen and unseen. The scenic town of Pelling is a perfect holiday destination for all nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.
