Drama queen – my son used to call me like this. Lots of time I had to create a Drama to protect him only.
I tried to come out of unwanted situations creating Drama! (Don’t know I will try it again or not!)
It was son’s result day 28th March and from 29th I was going to host an event that was never before.
Still had lot of tasks to be completed.
My son and I had to attend his PTM to get his report card. We went to his school early in the morning to be free as soon as possible.
I was not wearing helmet. I had never been caught by traffic for not wearing my helmet!
But that particular day, I had been caught!
I said sorry to them and promised to wear a helmet next time. But those devils (?) answered “Ok, ma’am. You will be charged only 100 bucks and you need to go to district transport for that.”
OMG! For 100 bucks I had to adjust my time to go for a long queue! “THINK THINK YOU DUFFER, OR YOU ARE GONE NOW”, my inner voice was telling me!
I started my drama… “MERE PASS EK HELMET THA, PAR KAL HI WOH TUT GAYA! WAISEBHI ME TOH SCOOTER JYADA CHALATI HI NEHI, ME TOH CAR HI DRIVE KARTI HU” (🤔🤔🤔Well do I knew driving??? NO! ). “MERI CAR SERVICING PAR GAYI HUI HAI, BACCHE KA RESULT KA SAWAL HAI, TOH SCOOTY PAR AANA PADA.”
My son was standing aside controlling his laugh. I was praying dramatically to let me free. I didn’t have time even to take a peaceful breadth that time.
Ultimately the traffic guys released me without any fine saying to buy a helmet immediately.
I didn’t want to stay for a single minute and we rushed in full speed.
Son was laughing loudly and told -“Momma, aap kamal ki DRAMA QUEEN ho!” I replied “Bakwas mat kar! Abhi toh mere pass marne ke liye bhi time nehi, phir keise jaati chalan bharne?”
It was 9 am morning and thankfully I could manage everything on time!
